Introduction

The EPDA Charter launched in 1997 on the first World Parkinson’s Disease Day states:

People with Parkinson’s disease have the right to:

  1. Be referred to a doctor with a special interest in Parkinson’s disease 

  2. Receive an accurate diagnosis

  3. Have access to support services 

  4. Receive continuous care; and

  5. Take part in managing the illness
